Accounting Information Systems is concerned with the use of information systems in accounting. It looks at the interaction between information, communications technologies and the formal systems of financial control required by business.
Business Security Management
Business Security Management focuses on information security in a corporate context. It looks at the design, management and security of eBusiness and provides an understanding of data communication systems and the ability to design them according to security needs.
Business Information Systems
Business Information Systems is the application of computers to business processes. It focuses on the fundamental understanding of how information systems work and how they can be and how they are used in a business environment.
eBusiness
eBusiness, also known as Electronic Business, is the application of information systems within an online or networked environment such as the internet. eBusiness is concerned with creating, deploying and maintaining a variety of communication systems in a business context.
Health Informatics
Health Informatics focuses on the relationship between information systems and health throughout the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in a health context such as health care or medical treatment and ways in which the information is used and protected.
Interactive Marketing
Interactive Marketing is the use of an interactive medium such as the internet to supplement the discipline of marketing. It looks at innovative strategies and use of internet applications for business communication and online marketing.
Professional Practice
Professional Practice is designed for students willing to develop and experience additional skills important in the business world. It looks at the ability to manage business information, communicate effectively and understand the importance of business ethics.
Quantitative Business Analysis
Quantitative Business Analysis is concerned with the use of data to support the decision making process in business. It is primarly concerned with decision support based on data analysis, practical applications of concepts from mathematics and statistics and problem solving skills.
Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management (SCM) relates to the management of the flow of materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to end-consumer. It involves coordinating and integrating these activities within and among companies effectively and efficiently.
Technology Management
Technology Management aims to place both the individual and the organisation in perspective by undertaking Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour and then complements the more technical focus of the engineering unit Managing Industrial Organisations.
