The City of Borås

Borås is a cosy student city in western Sweden – half way between Goteborg and Jönköping. With a population of about 64,000 inhabitants Borås instantly conveys a sense of home and belonging to its visitors. In the city you can reach anywhere easily by walking or cycling. Several city parks and a popular zoo, also known as “Sweden’s first Africa”, charmingly break up the townscape and invite relaxation. Furthermore, attractive bathing areas are located within a short distance of the centre: The city swimming pool in the middle of the city park and the beach of lake Öre, known as ‘Almenäs’, will tempt you to take a few hours off. Borås is a shopping paradise, too. It attracts millions of tourists each year. Large and small shops and malls with access from the street offer plenty of choice, services, and experience.

For example, the sports centre at Kransmossen offers a variety of floodlit jogging tracks, from 1 to 9 kilometres. In the winter, the tracks are prepared for cross-country skiing. Several alpine ski centres like the ones in Ulricehamn and Björbo offer lots of options for Skiing and Snowboarding fans. There are also gentle and occasionally wild rivers to tempt canoeing and rafting fans.
