The University of Jyväskylä was established in 1863. It is located in the city of Jyväskylä and is ranked as the second largest university of Finland. In Jyväskylä every fourth resident is a student.
The University has around 6800 undergrate and around 8300 graduates/postgraduates students. It has mainly seven faculties: Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Science, School of Business and Economics and Faculty of Information Technology.
Excellence, enlightenment, and engagement are the core values of the University of Jyväskylä. Its mission is to seek out truths, to produce and disseminate new knowledge, and to enhance and renew the cultural heritage.

The University of Jyväskylä is the second largest university in the Finland measured by the number of Master's degrees conferred. The Faculty of Information Technology currently has 200 staff and nearly 2000 Master’s degree students and about 200 postgraduate students.

IS:Link is supported by the Global Information Systems (GLIS) group. Its main expertise comprises of process design and technology support for knowledge intensive organizations. This covers also cultural and internationalization aspects, social software tools, as well as quality assurance. The University of Jyväskylä performs extensive research on E-Learning for SMEs and schools and also on standardization on multiple levels. More information can be found here.
